#DOWNLOAD CONTRA REBIRTH WAD PLUS#Some people might consider that a plus if they suck at these types of games, but it does make the game seem less intimidating to be able to continue over and over again from the stage you're at. You can't turn off the feature either, which is annoying. If there's one thing that somewhat disappoints me about this release, it's that you have unlimited continues. At times it may seem a little cheap (there's a grand total of 2 frames of animation for the civilians at the beginning of Stage 2), but I find that adds to the old-school appeal of the game Some people are disappointed that they aren't as detailed as Contra 4's graphics are, but this is really not a bad looking game. Personally, I also think the graphics are no slouch. This also also has no slowdown whatsoever, which is one way that this improves on Contra III. Levels 1 and 4 in particular are the most original, featuring sections that have never been done in a Contra game before. While the entirety of Contra 4 felt like a remixed tribute to the first few games, this actually introduces some new stage themes to the series. This is one area where the game actually does better than Contra 4 in. #DOWNLOAD CONTRA REBIRTH WAD SERIES#Plus one of the biggest things about the Contra series is replay value, and with the inventive stage design of these five stages, it'll definitely keep you coming back for more. With that in mind, this is a decent number of stages for a pick up and play arcade-style game to have. Plus the original arcade Contra games were only 5 levels each (they got extended to being 8 levels for the NES versions). ![]() The game itself is also only 5 levels long, but consider that Contra III, one of the highest rated games in the series, is only 6 levels and that two of them are overhead levels. #DOWNLOAD CONTRA REBIRTH WAD ARCHIVE#It's fast and energetic!! There are some songs in the game I didn't recognize, but I learned that those are all from Hard Corps, which is the one classic Contra game I have yet to play So I can't really compare them to the original versions, but the remixed versions stand up on their own.Ĭompared to Contra 4 on the DS, this will probably seem like a more "bare-bones" release, as it doesn't have an unlockable archive with lots of history and screenshots and such regarding the entire Contra series. Songs from all of the "classic" Contra games receive remixes here even the one original piece of music from the Operation C Game Boy game! Link here this is probably my favorite song in the whole game. #DOWNLOAD CONTRA REBIRTH WAD FREE#I'm censoring all these in-game moments by the way because the gameplay itself is one of the main appeals of Contra, but if you feel like spoiling yourself then feel free to read the text like a silly person.ĭid I mention it also has awesome music? Some people have called it Genesis style music, and I thought so too at first, but I've come to the conclusion that it's actually done in the style of the original Contra arcade games. ![]() I personally observed a moment which reminded me of Mischief Makers of all games (a bunch of enemy soldiers swinging together like one long rope). ![]() If you happen to like Gunstar Heroes or other Treasure games, or bullet-hell shmups, you'll definitely notice some influence here. It is so ****ing awesome! This is probably one of the most over the top Contra games yet, with stuff like jumping across robotic llamas as platforms while simultaneously shooting their heads off and fighting a gigantic robot with ball-arms, who eventually is destroyed by his own severed head. If you even slightly like Contra games any Contra game, you have got to get this ASAP. ![]()
